From Skuteviken

A cozy, white wooden house with yellow roses by the door, probably dating back to the 1700s, in Skuteviken, Bergen.
There are so many beautiful, and very old houses houses in this historical area. This house espescially captured my heart, facing west: the harbour, the sea, and the setting sun, and with a big old (and rare) pine tree in front
My great grandfather grew up in this area - after his father Erik
had been tragically murdered in 1875, in the prison were he worked. His widow, Christiane, then moved to Skuteviken, alone with her seven children. For those of you interested in history, and the macabre, read the story (in Norwegian) of what happened to his murderer here. Reader discretion is advised...
